EMDR

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a psychological therapy that can help people process difficult or traumatic experiences. It can be particularly helpful for trauma and PTSD, but can also support people experiencing anxiety, low mood, phobias and other difficulties rooted in earlier life experiences. EMDR helps the brain to reprocess distressing memories so that they feel less overwhelming and no longer have the same impact on someone’s thoughts, feelings and everyday life.

I integrate EMDR with elements of Internal Family Systems (IFS), which can help us understand and work compassionately with the different parts of ourselves that may have developed in response to difficult experiences. This can create a gentle, supportive approach to processing distressing memories and help you feel more settled, connected and able to move forward.

EMDR can be used with adults as well as children and adolescents.
